“We analyzed 10 T3 line plans and found gold” |
T3 Line Vendor Review Written by: Patrick Oborn - Sep 8, 2010 If a T1 service isn't enough to meet your needs, you can choose from the Tier 1 service providers' comprehensive t3 line (DS-3) service options. This high-speed line is offered in variables of up to 45 Mbps (from 3 Mbps to 45 Mbps or just 45 Mbps, depending on your needs) of continuous bandwidth so you can optimize the response time of your Web site, transfer large video files, or offer regional Internet access. We found 5 service providers that offer great plans. The first plan we found was with ACC Business. ACC uses the ATT network exclusively and is at the top when it comes to reliability. At ACC you'll get the reliability you would expect from ATT without the price. Sprint also came up high in our review of T3 service plans. Sprint offers an incredible SLA (Service Level Agreement) with their service standing behind the product they offer 100%. While this may seem like something all providers do, further research will show that not all providers offer an SLA like Sprint. The third provider offering a great T3 plan is Telepacific. Unfortunately Telepacific is a regional player and only offers service in California and Las Vegas. Because of their focus they are extremely specialized and offer incredible customer support and reliability. If you're not in California you may consider moving there just to get this service! The fourth plan we found and highly recommend is Telarus. Telarus is a reseller for Global Crossing, Qwest, and Wiltel. While you will get the value of the underlying provider you will not pay the price you would if you had gone in the front door. Telarus buys in bulk from these networks and transfers on the cost savings to its customers. Telarus is a virtual provider so you will not have extra hops to the network. You jump right on from your local CO and don't have to worry about extra latency! The final plan we suggest in our top 5 is Savvis. Savvis offers Tier 1 service and highly reliable customer service. While they have a limited footprint, once you're on the network you'll have one of the best services around. |

The CLEC has the option to store their equipment in the space they just purchased from the LEC. DS3/T3 lines forms the basis of business networks hubs for big organizations. Switches are a better way to connect several wired computers than hubs, in terms of intelligence, a switch is brighter than a hub. Today technologies such as virtual meeting room and IP telephony require high-speed data transfer with instant and secure connectivity. If you are paying exorbitant rates for your current phone operating system, then you will likely want to switch to a virtual PBX. Consumers of T3 Internet connections mainly consist of large enterprise businesses with intensive data demands such as large scale data files, VPN, corporately hosted application servers and video conferencing. Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line also known as ADSL is a group of DSL technologies that apply more bandwidth in one direction than the other. The printing industry is a large consumer of bandwidth as they transport large graphics files via upload and download. The Synchronous Transport Module or STM-1 is the SDH ITU-T fiber optic network transmission standard which has a bit rate of 155.52 Mbps and other levels of the Synchronous Transport Module are STM 4, STM 16 and STM 64 accordingly. Unlike DSL and cable modem technology, satellite broadband service is available anywhere in the U.S. with a clear view of the Southern horizon. Before you choose your plan of a virtual PBX, you will want to decide how many minutes and phone lines you are going to have to establish. ATT has SONET and Metro Ethernet options available at reasonable prices. With an E3 connection, an institution can transfer 34 Mb/s per second. The T1 line transmits the data at 1.544 megabits per second which means there is never a delay in what the other person is saying like standard lines often times have. Backbone as it relates to telecommunications is the part of a communications network that handles the major traffic using the highest-speed, and often longest, paths in the network usually consisting of optical fiber and copper wires. DSL will go at the speed that it advertises but it should be noted that even during high traffic periods both DSL and cable will lose some speed. If you have a T1 you will be paying quite a bit more than you did for your DSL connection. This is due to the structure of T1 pricing but the SLA will be better.
